Chicken Dum Aloo

Chicken Dum Aloo


Ingredients
  • Chicken ½ kg
  • Onion chopped 1
  • Curry leaves a branch
  • Capsicum chopped 1
  • Tomatoes boiled 3
  • Potatoes 3
  • Dry red chilies 5 – 6
  • Yogurt 125 gm
  • Oil ¼ cup
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Chili powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Nutmeg mace powder ½ tsp
  • Tomato puree 2 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Water 1 - 1 ½ cup
  • Whole spices as required
  • Oil for fry
  • Salt to taste
Method
  • Cut 3 potatoes into cubes and deep fry till golden brown, remove from oil and keep aside.Heat ¼ cup oil in a wok, add 1 chopped onion, mix whole spices and 1 branch of curry leaves, fry well for few minutes.Now add ½ kg chicken and fry till its color turn to golden brown.
  • Add 1 chopped capsicum, 125 gm yogurt, 2 tbsp tomato puree, 3 boiled chopped tomatoes and 5 – 6 dry red chilies cut into halves.Cook for few seconds, then add 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp nutmeg mace powder. Fry well for few seconds. Add 1 cup water.
  • Also add fried potatoes, cover and cook for 8 – 10 minutes,Now remove lid, fry well on high flame.Add 1 tsp all spice powder, fry very well till water dries.Dish it out and serve hot.
